Neuromodulators are wrinkle-relaxing injections of botulinum toxin (i.e. Botox/Dysport/Xeomin). The use of neuromodulators can relax specific muscles in the face and assist in reduction of movement, soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and correct asymmetries with precise, targeted injections. This procedure has little to no downtime with minimal discomfort. Treatment can take up to 14 days to settle and is recommended every 3-4 months for desired results. Medically, we use neuromodulators to assist with TMJ pain, grinding (bruxism) and hyperhydrosis (excessive sweating).

The same Botox you’re familiar with for reducing dynamic wrinkles, like frown lines and crow’s feet, is effective for reducing excessive sweating. In the same manner that Botox helps correct dynamic wrinkles, it can help address hyperhydrosis when antiperspirants and medications are ineffective. Botox injections for excessive sweating can yield results within 7-14 days. Although results vary, you can notice sweat reductions that lasts 4-6 months. Once the effects wear off, repeat treatments once every 6 months.

Injectable hyaluronic acid (HA) is a type of temporary dermal filler. Hyaluronic acid is found naturally throughout the body, and in the skin, it attracts water, which allows the skin to become more hydrated. As we age, the fat, muscles, bone and skin in our face begins to thin and this loss of volume leads to either a sunken or sagging appearance of the face, fine lines, wrinkles, folds and thin lips. Injectable HA is used to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, facial folds and to create structure, framework and volume to the face and lips. The effects are seen immediately, but most natural and settled at 2-4 weeks and can last 3-24 months depending on the type of product selected.

In summary, while both microneedling and RF microneedling offer skin rejuvenation benefits, RF microneedling tends to provide additional skin tightening and lifting effects due to the incorporation of radiofrequency energy.
